CarneValdi, Music Unmasked, Redux
Featuring The Women of Vivaldi singing the master’s works as they were heard in the Ospedale della Pietà! This will turn your expectations on their heads as we unmask forgotten traditions.
Back by very popular demand... The Camerata di Sant'Antonio and The Women of Vivaldi present an encore performance of "CarneValdi," featuring the music of Venice. Come hear this special, unique, authentic performance of one of the greatest choral masterworks of all time "Gloria" performed as the Maestro himself intended it, with female Tenors and female Basses! We are also presenting a haunting aria from one of Vivaldi’s recently rediscovered operas, premiered by a Female Baritone.
In the second half, the orchestra will present Pedrollo's Concertino for Oboe, and violin soloists of the Camerata in a round-robin performance of Paganini's “Il Carnevale a Venezia.”
Tickets $20 or by subscription. Free admission for ages 17 and under (accompanied by an adult).
