Jazz, Pop, Standards & The Great American Songbook Vocalist
Suzanne Fatta, a dynamic, unique and sultry vocalist, possesses a deep, burnished voice with a huge range; she covers the best male jazz singers like Frank Sinatra, Johnny Hartman and Chet Baker in their original keys. She also covers Peggy Lee, Julie London and other snarky broads. Suzanne sings jazz in English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Sicilian and Spanish, having studied South American jazz in Chile. Known as Carmina Suzanne, she is one of the top Agency Plus Models in the world, and brings this stage presence, confidence and sense of style to all her performances. Ms. Fatta was a Harvard University Teaching Fellow for the course “Jazz and Music of the Swing Era” for which she won a Teaching Award of Excellence; she is a multi-nominee for Best Female Jazz Vocalist in the JazzBuffalo Reader's Poll. She studied scatting with Jane Monheit; you can find her Jazz and Pop Playlists here, and her Bittersweet Piano Lounge playlist is here. Ms. Fatta has wowed audiences with her stunning beauty, her versatile voice, and her fearlessness as a vocal artist… plus some pretty amazing gowns custom made by top designers!
Suzanne performs in a cabaret-style show (the longest run in WNY) with the award-winning DIVA by DIVA, and her pop-jazz-world Demo CD Brucia La Terra - featuring a reggaeton version of the love theme from The Godfather - came out in late 2016. She is now one of the featured Chanteuses at Bittersweet Piano Lounge, Buffalo’s only dedicated jazz piano bar. She also sings jazz at Pausa Art House (where she served as Hostess for the International Jazz Day 2017 Multiple Sclerosis Fundraiser), The Historic Colored Musicians Club, Daily Planet Cafe, The Lounge Cadets, The Blue Room, The Saturn Club and at many vocal recitals. Ms. Fatta is a highly trained classical singer who has performed jazz, pop, opera, contemporary music, and early music in many cities across North America and Europe. You can find audio tracks, live performances and demo videos on her Soundcloud and YouTube pages.
Suzanne says, “The JazzBuffalo Community has been so welcoming and kind since I bust out onto the scene in 2016! Thank you so much to all of the cats and gals who supported me in my jazz career. It seems like white female jazz singers are a dime a dozen, but because I can sing three octaves in five languages, cover male singers in the original keys, and scat like a queen, we are really shaking things up! To the Jazz Aunties who have taken me under your wing, you know who you are, and I love you so much. I’m so excited I have formed a new combo with Sal Andolina, we’re gonna be hitting the scene soon as SUZY AND SAL, presenting Italian jazz, especially from The Godfather trilogy! Our performances are fresh, improvisational, and dynamic. Also, look forward to my new EP of all original pop songs produced by Mark Marinaccio.”
