Modeling

French-English Publications

October 2014

In triple Franco-Anglo news, I'm being featured in some great magazines this winter: as a model as well as an author with a bilingual article on fat shaming and body issues in opera in Alizé La Vie; then a commissioned editorial on revolutions in women's fashion for Paris-based Ronde & Glamour; and finally an amazing, touching interview I did with a local Buffalonian for the SCAR Project will be out in winter 2015 Black & White issue of bilingual Volup2 - Paris-based magazine founded by WNY-native Velvet d'Amour.

One hell of a week!

September 2014

So much amazing news has come in this week! To start, I am beyond elated to be performing onstage with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in Bartok's chamber opera Bluebeard's Castle. The stunning set from the Seattle production is by Dale Chihuly! Read more about this amazing collaboration in The NewsBusiness FirstArtvoice and Buffalo Rising.

In equally amazing news, I've been selected to walk in Uptown Fashion Week in NYC, in the first-ever Plus Showcase for this high fashion, avant-garde show. Read this article in the NY Daily News about the high profile event! Check out my Press page for the latest video and image links.

In the meantime, I'm being flown out to NYC this weekend (during MBNYFW no less) for my fit model job - the designer is in from LA! And to wrap it up? A few smaller job offers including opera roles (more info soon), blogging, and another magazine cover...

Magazine collaborations

June 2014

Good news - I'm a staff writer for Alizé La Vie Magazine, a bilingual print and online publication based in NYC and Paris. In addition, I'll be featured in an interview and fashion spread in an upcoming issue. Representatives from the magazine approached me in Paris after the Pulp'Fashion Week show, so this is very exciting! My first article on the spate of critical fat shaming in opera will be published in Autumn 2014.

Euro News... Paris!

January 2014

I am beyond elated to tell you I'm walking in a major international fashion show in Paris this spring! Ma tête tourne. Pulp'Fashion Week Paris organized by Histoire de Courbes gets serious press around the world, with some of the top plus designers and models in Europe, so I am jumping for joy! Ah, April (and May) in Paris... In addition, the drama company I Co-Founded, HIDden Theatre, is invited back to the York Mystery Plays 2014. HIDden will present The Baptism on one of the coveted wagons in this amazing event. The group will go on a book tour of England, I'll join them later this year in Venice.

December jollity

December 2013

Here's a holiday mish-mash... This month I'm leading a session in Model Boot Camp 101 to young and aspiring models. I've also been asked by Opera Sacra to sing at their Verdi-Wagner bicentennial gala concert. For opera lovers, we invite you to watch the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions (Buffalo/Toronto District) on Jan 4th. I'll be singing in New Year's Day services at St. Paul's as well. In the background, I'm producing Model & Opera demo reels with the good folks at Arlington Place Pictures. In the meantime check out this featured Spotlight Model interview.

High fashion winter

I've got a number of high fashion modeling events coming up during the chilly months. First I'm walking for custom bridal/ gown designer Made by Anatomy for Mass Appeal 2013. Next is my luxe editorial shoot with Mark Callen Photography and Franci Jewelry in a mansion, finishing with more bridal couture in January for the Winter Hotel Lafayetteshoot with R.J.Z. Photography and M. A. Carr Bridal. Lastly we have a portfolio and an outerwear outdoors shoot with out of this world photographer Luke Copping.

Fall updates

October 2013

It's been a while since I updated the News section, but not for lack of exciting new information... modeling has taken up lots of my time time lately! Although I was able to combine singing and modeling in Venice, after our performance of Un Vespro Venexiano I met a photographer and squeezed off a photoshoot. Now, in addition to walking in many local shows in WNY, I'm very proud to be a part of the video-based Confidence is the Key Project, managed by Evolve and Skorch magazines, bringing together plus models and fashion insiders from around the world, sharing their stories of confidence. And I've been invited back by OperaBuffs of WNY to give a Lecture during National Opera Week on the pre-history of opera. Vocális Chamber Choir will embark on a professional tour of England in summer 2014, playing amazing venues in and around the capitol. I'm excited for another season with this fantastic ensemble in the WNY and Niagara region. In the meantime, I'm taking small solo gigs at services (including a professional position at St. Paul's Schola Cantorum), fundraisers and private events, which has been fun. And starting in late October, I'll be onstage with Diva By Diva at the award-winning O'Connell & Company. This cabaret style all-female performance celebrates its Sweet 16 this year in WNY's longest running show.

I'll be covering New York and Florida for now... I'm so pleased to be on board for both publications, this is very exciting! For modeling, I'm walking in these shows: F.I.T.
